As of October 2018, Google Plus is slated for deletion. Fortunately, this won’t happen for around 10 more months, allowing our brand and many of our clients’ brands to continue reaping the search engine optimization (SEO) benefits of Google+ for almost another year.

Why Google+ Was Awesome for Businesses

If you’re confused about why anyone would miss Google+ or be sad about its demise, here are a few reasons:

  1. Posting weekly on Google+ allowed us and our clients to show up easily on the first page of Google without spending a dime on Google ads or monthly SEO fees.

  2. The Google Communities feature was a great way for us to pinpoint certain audiences based on their interests (on behalf of our brand and our clients’ businesses).

  3. The Google+ profile feature gave us and our clients the opportunity for international exposure, which was perfect for designers who wanted their work to be found by and featured in large shelter publications.

If you need to prepare your SEO for a post-Google Plus world, or if you just want to know how you can easily improve your business’s ability to be found on Google, this episode is for you. Today on The Kate Show, I explain how to add SEO to your portfolio images, blog post images, and why the headings in your website copy matter to Google.
